The number of ultra-high-net-worth individuals in Portugal — people with a net worth above roughly €25 million — rose from 1,462 in 2021 to 2,187 in 2026, an increase of almost 50%, according to Knight Frank's Prime International Residential Index.
João Cília, CEO of Porta da Frente Christie's, explains that wealthy buyers increasingly seek a primary residence, a second home and portfolio diversification: entry-level high-end homes are priced around €6,500/m², luxury properties around €11,000/m², with
ultra-luxury concentrated in Cascais, central Lisbon, Comporta and the Algarve's "Golden Triangle". Portugal is also Europe's leading market for branded residences, with around 1,200 units representing between 30% and 50% of the country's luxury residential market.
